Plastic Outlet On My Pond Filter Broke Is There A Way To Save It?

The plasic outlet which my hose attaches to on my new pond filter just broke and i need advice on how to fix it. I have the piece that broke off and i reckon i can reatach it but, i’m not sure what is the best product for this job. It will have alot of water running through it so i need it to be water tight. Please if anyone know how to bond the broken piece back together so i can still use it i would appriciate the help.

You could try an epoxy glue, like superglue. Gorilla Glue may also work. Somehow you would have to get the area clean and dry before applying the glue. The silicone caulks will not work because they have a ‘give’ to them and you need a tight seal that will hold two pieces together. You may need a temporary fix until you can replace the outlet or the filter box.
It could be guaranteed. Check the manufacturer’s warranty.

I’m not sure but I reckon you can reattach it with a tube of aquarium sealant which will be non toxic. About $5 at walmart. Just make sure to let it set up….As a last resort try goop household glue although it is toxic I really don’t reckon it will get into the pond. I use it to glue bird feeder that break…and they never break again in that spot even in the harsh winter.
The most incredible thing about GOOP is that it works under the most adverse conditions, it sticks to virtually everything and remains flexible!http://www.naturalhandyman.com/iip/infad…
They also make it for shoes. Fantastic for those flapping soles on shoes, hehe..
The link above give a list of the different types that they make.

Walmart, Lowes, Ace or Do it Best any of those stores carry it.
